FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What kind of food does Casa Cantina serve?

Casa Cantina serves traditional Mexican cuisine including sizzling fajitas, hearty burritos, and classic cantina favorites. Every dish is prepared with fresh ingredients and bold, authentic spices that reflect genuine Mexican cooking — not fast-food shortcuts.
  • Is Casa Cantina good for a family dinner?

Yes — Casa Cantina's relaxed, cantina-style atmosphere makes it a natural fit for families. There's no formal dress code, the setting is welcoming for kids and adults alike, and the menu offers a wide enough variety that everyone at the table finds something they'll enjoy.
  • What are Casa Cantina's hours in Shreveport?

Casa Cantina opens at 11:00 AM every day of the week. Sunday through Thursday the kitchen runs until 9:30 PM, and Friday and Saturday hours extend to 10:30 PM — giving you a comfortable window for both midday lunches and late weekend dinners.
  • How do fajitas differ from burritos at Mexican restaurants?

Fajitas are served on a sizzling skillet with grilled meat and vegetables you assemble yourself with tortillas and toppings. Burritos come pre-wrapped with fillings folded inside. Both are staples of authentic Mexican cantina dining and highlight different flavor and texture experiences.
  • Why do fresh ingredients matter in Mexican cooking?

Fresh ingredients carry the bold, layered flavor that defines authentic Mexican food. Dried-out proteins or pre-made sauces flatten the taste profile significantly. Restaurants committed to fresh prep — like Casa Cantina — deliver noticeably brighter salsas, more vibrant spices, and better overall texture in every dish.
  • Can I visit Casa Cantina without a reservation?

Casa Cantina welcomes walk-in guests, making it easy to stop by whenever the craving hits. There's no need to plan ahead — just arrive during open hours and settle in. The casual cantina format is designed for spontaneous visits as much as planned evenings out.
  • What makes cantina-style dining different from regular restaurants?

Cantina-style dining blends a relaxed, social atmosphere with a full food and drink menu rooted in Mexican tradition. The experience leans toward comfort over formality — think bold flavors, energetic ambiance, and a setting that works equally well for a quick lunch or a drawn-out group dinner.
  • Where is Casa Cantina located in Shreveport?

Casa Cantina is located at 6535 Youree Dr #401 in Shreveport, LA 71105, along the well-traveled Youree Drive corridor. The location is accessible from surrounding communities including Bossier City, Haughton, Benton, and Stonewall — a straightforward drive for most of the metro area.
  • What drinks pair well with Mexican food?

Cantina-style drinks — from margaritas to agua frescas — are traditionally designed to complement the heat and richness of Mexican cuisine. Citrus-forward beverages cut through bold spice, while lighter options balance heavier entrées like loaded burritos or cheese-topped plates.
  • How do I find the best Mexican restaurant in Shreveport?

Look for a restaurant using fresh ingredients, offering a broad traditional menu, and maintaining a consistent atmosphere that matches the food. In Shreveport, Casa Cantina on Youree Drive stands out for its authentic Mexican cuisine, cantina-style setting, and daily lunch-through-dinner service.

Stopped for lunch. Excellent service. Average burrito, great dessert (cheesecake). Will have to try something else for entree because it does not beat some of the other ones in town.
